"Red Reef"

900mm x 450mm x 20mm (35" x 17.7" x .8 ") Dipdytch

Resin, pigment paste, acryllic paint on wood

This painting was inspired by a wonderful holiday Gary and I spent sailing and snorkeling around the Whitsundays Queensland Australia. My “Red Reef” is completely imagined and the shapes were directed by the technique. The reef and fish are slightly strange and distorted. This represents my fear for the future of our beautiful natural environment. This painting has the illusion of looking down into the water. This effect was achieved by many layers of resin and acrylic paint techniques.
